But then I releazed, I don't remember what happens when the conductor is
thinner than the skin effect.

Well, Malcolm already answered that question. When a conductor is a
fraction of a skin depth there is essentially no difference between the AC
and DC conductivity or resistance. This is because the metal is not thick
enough to support a "reactive" eddy current in opposition to the applied
current.
