Toroid

I want to purchase a machined toroid from Information Unlimited but has
anyone ever used one of their units before?. Are they any good or are they
crimped together pieces of junk? I ask this because a leyden jar I purchased
from them for 30 some dollars had the two metal halves, or inside and outside
plates seperated by what seemed to be a plastic peanut butter jar complete
with threaded top. When voltage was appilied the plastic Immediately blew
through. I assumed the leyden JAR would be glass as most I have seen are
especially for 37.00. I dont want a simillar experience with a toroid that
turns out to be a miller lite can. Anyone know if their units are spun AL ?
