YOu want to interrupt a higher voltage?

Let's think about this:

is the thing is physically long enough to hold off more than 2kV?

say you have 10 in series and you've got, say, 10kv across the string. (although that would be unusual.. you'll have less than that before the first one blows, because the resistance is low)

One will certainly blow first, and now you have your 10kV across a 2kV fuse, which will probably flashover (that being why it's only rated at 2kV).

If the source is stiff enough to still provide the 5Amps, even with the voltage drop across that arc, then the next fuse will blow, and so forth.


It will be pretty exciting.
