Reactive power is a good thing. It can be easily converted to real power. Think of charging a capatitor reatively then shorting it releasing real power in the form of an arc or spark. It constantly happens in all our TCs. Same thing applies for inductive power discharge. These translations from real to reative to real power happen al the time all around us.

Finally I would remind you that the aim of a Tesla coil is to deliver real
power to a streamer load, and the reactive power is just something we put up
with because we want the resonant rise associated with it.
