okayyy.. what it all does..

the transformer... it boosts the wall voltage to 9KV - 20 KV+ ( for
those who run really big stuff)

the Cap... it stores a charge depositied by the transformer

the Spark gap... it is a switchm, when the cap gets charged to a
particular point ( depends on the spark gaps width (( air gap, normally
1/3" )) the voltage between the spark gap "points" will eventually cause
the air between the gap points to "ionize" and then create a conductive
path...

the primary coil .... it gets the charge contained by the cap dumped
into it when the spark gap creates the ionized path between the
points... the primary will then create a magnetic field which will
transfer into the secondary coil .... while the charge exists in the
primary coil and cap, the field will flux back and forth 100,000 times a
second ( on average)

the secondary coil ... it recieves the fluxing field from the primary
coil and cap and it helps raise the voltage level to incredible levels...

the toRRoid ;) is like a capacitor which works in tandem with the
secondary coil... the secondary and toRRoid is a matched system in
which the primary and cap must be "equal " to .. to produce a matched
resonance....

this is as simple as I can explain it ... :)
