Arc length triples along any dielectric surface for any given voltage. When
you make strings of caps, makes sure they are entirly linear. Just one
string of 13 or whatever. Your gap is set about right, you just need to
reconfig your capacitor.
BTW- Dan Kunkel reported great success with these same caps. He told me his
arc length doubled from saltwater caps. and guess what? he's also using a
9/60
