Staccato coil PF and PW

Hi All,

	One of my long standing projects is to hook a 555 timer circuit to the
output control of my CW coil's RF generator to make a staccato coil.  It is
350kHz at 900 watts.  Does anyone have a ballpark range for the pulse
frequency and pulse width I should be shooting for.  Nothing really
critical since the timer circuit is easy to modify but just a general idea
of where to start would be helpful.
