What I am now concerned about is heat dissipation. If you loose 10% of available power in the gap (and it may be higher), then this new gap will have to handle 700 watts. That is a lot of heat. The copper pipe sections will be mounted to 1/4" thick pieces of bakelite, which should be able to withstand quite a bit of heat. I hope there will be enough air flow to keep things from getting too hot. Ed Sonderman
