Hi!  Definately go with the MMC's...rolled or stacked poly caps are
just too much work, and they will most likely cook on you
anywho...Plus the bulk, the mess..*shudder*  Gives me the
heebie-jeebies just thinking about it :)  You want the Metallised
Polypropylene film.  Not mylar or Polyester, the diaelectric heats
up too much for Tesla work (but they work fine for DC based TC's
with a low firing rate. Bill Noble was offering bags caps for
MMC's.  They're Polyester caps, not the best for TC work, but at
~$25 for a bag of 100, it's a great buy so you can make yourself a
cap bank.  Typically you want to put the caps in series to get to
1.4-5 times your input voltage, and then put the strings in
parallel to get the capacitance you want.  Don't mess with the
resonant cap size, always go bigger.  It's less stress on the NST's
and caps, plus you can easily charge a Larger Than Resonant (LTR)
cap with an NST.   Hope this helps some!
