Brass is an alloy of  copper and tin, or is it copper and zinc.. One of them
is brass, the other bronze.
Anyway, brass bolts (and bronze for that matter) are readily available at
stores selling marine hardware.

Zinc is terrible for electrodes because of the very low melting point.
