I was away from the list in the last weeks. What kind of simulator
are you considering? A full electromagnetic simulator would be really
quite complex and slow, but a simulator using a lumped model is almost
trivial.
I have one that simulates the behavior or the resonant transformer
before breakout:

It's small and instantaneous, but much more complex that a minimal
simulator would be.
