I think I read an old list archive from Richard Hull that stated that the 
"pig" designation for pole mounted distribution tranformers was given
by scrap yard workers who dealt with discarded, leaky transformers
for scrap metal salvage. Someone amongst the scrap yard communi-
ty stated that trying to handle these transformers was like trying to
wrestle a greased pig at the state fair. Hence, the name pig just kind
of stuck with them. Does that sound about right, Terry or Richard?
