you could use a pin hole connection. poke an awl through the wire and
pry apart, then stick another wire inside the hole and either wrap it
around or solder it in place (soldering actually works well,heating the
end of your tap wire draws the flux and solder into your main wire) you
could place these at intervals along the primary for tuning.
