Aren't ferrite cores used in radio reception which ranges in the megahertz?

I thought that eddy currents induced in normal iron cores is the major
disadvantage that is overcome by using powdered iron that reduces the
conductor length in each piece of iron in the core. Thus the induced emf
across each piece of iron is very small thus having negligable currents in
the core.
