Ted,

A lot will depend on how many turns are in the primary.  If the
primary uses just 5 turns, then tuning will be critical and may
need to be ajusted to 1/4 or 1/8 turn accuracy.  But if the 
primary uses 20 turns, then a one turn or 1/2 turn accuracy may
be good enough.
