Brine Cap Electrodes

Hello Coilers;

While dis-assembling one of my salt water caps earlier this evening
I made an interesting observation.  It appears that copper makes a
much better electrode material than galvanized or chrome plated
threaded rod.  After equal times of being immersed in the brine
there was little tarnish on the copper electrodes as opposed to
the galvanized rods, which where quite blackened and had some
buildup of foreign material on them.

Those using or building salt water caps might want to try 1/2 inch
copper water pipe for the electrodes that hang down in the bottles.
Not only will they not corrode as bad, but they will offer a much
larger surface area as well, if the bottom is left open allowing
the brine access to both inside and outside of the pipe.
