Re: [TCML] Tesla Digest, Vol 148, Issue 1 - medical diathermy machine

Diathermy has been used since 1930s to treat arthritis and to accelerate
bone repair issues. Regular MD's had these high frequency devices for
in-office theraputics. They are still used today at most sports facilities.

This article gives an overview of an early one:

A friend of mine has one. It is a high frequency oscillator with a glass
probe. The glass has an extended narrow neck with a bulbous end. When
energized, it gives off the appearance of a dancing brush discharge similar
to a Tesla Globe found at the Spencer Gift store.
