I can easily imagine something like a static discharge on the inside. The field builds up, charge accumulates on the insulated surface, maybe there's some dust or something, too. You might not even be able to see it if you had a camera inside (an interesting project for GoPro.. you could put it in a box with metallized film surface)

Ensure there is some ventilation for the inside of the tube. Ran a coil last night, that was glued together 18 hours before, and blew the ends out of the secondary. Luckily little damage, and the washing machine will remove the other traces of the shock it gave me :) Derek ------------------------------------ Posted by: "ExtremeElectronics.co.uk" <tesla@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ Yahoo Groups Links <*> To visit your group on the web, go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tcbouklist/ <*> Your email settings: Individual Email | Traditional <*> To change settings online go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tcbouklist/join (Yahoo!
