I found om Wikipedia quote a long time Ago a description of a vandegraaf Using gas instead of belts and also A detailed description of the death ray Gun is on bill Beaty's website amasci.com if I remember correctly. The point is although this deathray Design is out in the open it is still A heck of a job far beyond the scope Of an amateur to get one running. First it requires a working railgun That can shoot mercury drops Very high into the atmosphere Furthermore it requires a special kind Of vandegraaf generator... Than you must somehow charge This drops with very high voltage D.C. And aim them correctly At let's say an airplane. I don't see this happening quite soon. Specially not by amateurs... And not to mention the dangers involved With Mercury poisioning. A jet injection with mercury alone Can be our demise. And you might as well violate almost Every aviation and safety rule with this.. But the vandegraaf thingy is different If one could build a working model As an amateur this might help me with One very special project that needs High voltage D.C. Potential against earth. I know quite well Tesla Coils produce High voltage AC current and standing waves. I do not even dare to think about rectifying these or the problems And dangers involved doing so... As far as I know none has ever made D.C. From a Tesla coil output...
