I realize, now, that you are using full aluminium corrugated "dryer" ducting which is semi-rigid, in which case I have mislead you.
I didn't appreciate the difference but I have used both in the past
I am using ribbed plastic covered ducting with aluminium foil which is light and folds up almost flat. Mine is 12 x 36 inches and has never been changed in years but then I always use a breakout point.

With the Mori clips in my situation, you clip the last two adjacent ribs of the duct ends. It should point in toward the center of the circle formed by the cross section of the duct tubing.

My MC-52 small Mori Clips arrived today from Hong Kong even though the eBay
add looked like it was coming from Australia.

Anyway, these small clips are like tiny and clip in one direction. I didn't
see before nor do I now how you use them to join together 2 aluminum dryer
ducting sections. Do you put two of the Mori clips together with one of
them being upside down. This way you can join 2 aluminum dryer ducting
sections coming from opposite directions but there will not be a flush fit.

Can you explain how you use them to connect 2 sections of aluminum dryer
ducting together?

Dryer ducting joins can be done with Moriclips or similar. I use these in
my office instead of paperclips.
They slide on and lock. Sometimes I use a couple of small aluminum angles
to help the slide off.

Now that I have my mid sized Tesla coil working with 3 feet averaging and
some over 4 feet using 2 15kv 60mA NSTs... I would like to focus on
building a bigger Toroid top load. Currently I'm using 6" dryer ducting
with foil pizza pans in the middle. As most dryer ducting designs go, it's
not "smooth" and I get a lot of side sparks. I'm thinking if I can build
one with 8" dryer ducting or larger and figure out a way to make it smooth
it should create less but longer thicker sparks.

What are coilers doing about this problem? I'm not going to spend $400+ for
a machined one that's smaller. I'm limited on tools with a hacksaw and
electric drill for the moment. If dryer ducting is to be used, what are you
guys using to join the ends together (just tape)?
