Hi Patrick and all,Actually, Tesla did serve as one of the six vice-presidents of the AIEE between 1892 - 1894.
BTW, Tesla initially refused the Edison medal in 1917 - and you can tell that he was more than a bit peeved over it, saying, "If I had the money to spend on such nonsense, I would award a Tesla Medal to Mr. Edison!" :^)
He later changed his mind and agreed to accept the award.
