<I have never had a problem with mine and I also run my ham radioamplifier

quite often also with no ill effect.  Does you power line go thru your

meter??? Mine is feed by a current transformer and they take the readingas

a drive by on the road about 300ft from my meter.>

The meter plugs into the distribution panel - when it is removed thepower to the house is cut off.
