Re: [TCML] Pole pig coil.

Hi Caleb,
Not to tell you what to do or not to ,whenever I see a post like yours I feel a strange urge to speak up as a survivor of a well placed 20,000 volt shock at 250 plus ma ,Well let's just say be very careful please. I do not like 1 eared piggies because a single bushing makes it just that much easier to get yourself the circuit, If you somehow manage to survive you will never be the same and most likely will regret the day you considered messing with it. 'nuff said. Other than that I don't see why your plan wouldn't work with the welder in series and the low sides shorted to your preferred current draw. I would like to see you use an equipment ground on the welder case. As the 220 you are feeding the pig with is hot with respect to groung one can surmise so will be the pig's case in relationship with the ground. So I think you will end up either insulating the pig case or isolating the other side from the case. There are much more knowledgeable folks on the TCML than I but I thought I'd help get the conversation rolling . Good luck with your coil definitely not a beginner project. And please let us know all about it when your done. Cheers Binny

Subject: [TCML] Pole pig coil.

Hello my name is Caleb, I have a pole pig with only an H1 bushing, the other
end of the coil is grounded, can I make this work? Also I want to limit the
current with an arc welder but only have one, if I don't hook the center tap
up ( the neutral) and just strait 240 will this work?
