I have made simple spark gaps using Miller TIG welder HF section spark gap electrodes. They are tungsten disks sweated to steel shanks. The shanks can be drilled and tapped for wire connections. The shanks are half inch diameter steel and are put into steel or other metal supports. They will take some heat but can use other cooling methods. This may not be the simplest set up but it has shown itself to be quite durable. Any questions contact me off line.
