The rotary spark gaps pictured (There are two of them) weren't for the 13M. They were for a Chinese project thru kVA. The design was a joint effort by five of us (Bill included) and I built the stands and mounted the motors. Bills friend machined the enclosures and rotary arms then Bill and I assembled them. These things sounded scary when up to speed at 3600 rpm...
