My only experience with 3 phase sync motors are huge, but they are in sync. However, they didn't use a VFD, as the two don't make sense. I doubt if you use a VFD to go from single to 3 phase could output exactly 60 Hz, and even if it could do so accurately, you might have to adjust the phase every time. Just dunno. ________________________________ From: David Boyle <twoten@xxxxxxxxx> To: tesla@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, April 22, 2014 1:51 PM Subject: [TCML] srsg with a vfd I have a chance to get a motor and vfd drive for a nice price for my srsg. My only concern is would a 3 phase synchronous motor powered by a variable frequency drive running at 1800rpm be in sync with the line voltage? _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla _______________________________________________ Tesla mailing list Tesla@xxxxxxxxxx http://www.pupman.com/mailman/listinfo/tesla
