[TCML] Differences between 833A and 833C Tubes in VTTC operation
Hello,
here is a question for the tube-specialists: What exactly are the
differences between a 833A and 833C tube? I always thought, the only
difference is the material of the anode: 833A has a metal-anode and the 833C
graphite anode. But are there any other differences in the parameters of
this tubes which could affect VTTC operation? My problem is:
I have built a VTTC with a 833A tube, which is running very very well. It
consists of a statccato driver also. Today I simply replaced the 833A tube
with a 833C. The sparks are as long as before with the 833A tube, but the
staccato doesn't work properly any more. The impulses are unevenly and no
more controllable. No other parameters were changed, only the tube replaced!
So how can this be?
Regards,
Stefan
