Hello I am building a small tc, 10" tall driven with a 6kv 20ma obit.
I will not be using an earth ground, just a third wire gnd from the
power cord. I need suggestions on how to wire the line filter in.
Should it be wired in the standard way or reversed. I have seen the
proper way to do it when using an rf gnd on larger tc's but haven't
seen any examples on how to wire it without the rf gnd on small
ones.
you have an RF ground on your small coil, whether you want one or not.
I'd use something like a 2 or 3 foot square of something conductive
(maybe a couple metal cookie sheets or something like that.. folds up, etc.)
I'd hook up the filter so the shunt capacitors are TOWARDS the TC, with
the case of the filter hooked to the greenwire ground (which also
connects to your RF ground and the OBIT case, right?)
