Parallel NSTs was: Re: [TCML] Re: Tesla Digest, Vol 59, Issue 13



Although series wiring of NST secondaries is possible in principle, parallel is definitely the way to go for several reasons. Here are three:

1) Insulation in an NST is minimal even for its rated voltage; expect much internal arcing.

2) Corona problems scale exponentially with voltage and this dissipates power that should go to the Tesla Coil secondary.

3) Your wiring insulation and capacitor bank would have to be rated for twice the voltage--> $$$$.

Hi Tesla fans,I have two 15KV 60ma NST's.Can these be wired in series to get 
30KV or wired in paralell to get 120ma?Newcomer Nathan
