A very impressive stunt is putting a saltwater moistened tennis ball in 
between a jacobs ladder, so as the arc climbs, it hits the tennis ball.

Using strontium or barium or copper salts makes for a very colorful display.

In general, flames conduct electricity.  Putting a candle on the top of 
a TC is an interesting experiment.  I wonder what would happen if you 
put something a bit bigger on a big coil?


A fine spray of salt water might be a way to prompt sparks to go a 
particular direction, for instance.
