RE: [TCML] my new coil. how is performance?
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback!
Hopefully this answers a few of the questions i've gotten...
The secondary winding length is 25 inches, the toroid is made with 5inch aluminum ducting, with a total diameter of 19 inches, the power supply is a box I made which contains 2 15kv 60ma neon transformers (which i got for $15 each from a neon shop owner!).they are wired in parallel for a total rating of 15kv 120ma 1800va. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxyB07yahpQ)
this is actually the second tesla coil I've built. the first one I ever built was last year and can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c6LghhD43s
here is an update of my new coil: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-LGAyMntLs&feature=youtu.be
I added another turn by using some high-current wire. This seems to make the sparks longer. Also, in the video I show the insides of the cabinet, although it is not 100% finished yet.
I also put up some metal mesh on the ceiling, and the coil only strikes to the mesh when it hits the ceiling now :)
While i built this coil, I was video taping everything I built. I will soon be editing it into one big video which will show the enter coil being made from scratch (sped up of course).I also plan to add a small control box beside the vacuum which everything will be plugged into. (the adaptor for led's, vacuume, nst's etc...).I also hope to have it controlled by an infrared receiver, and make a small remote control to turn the coil on and off from a distance.
thanks for the questions! and thanks for all the help I get from this list!!!

Very nice job! Wish my first coil was half that good. Have a couple of questions, if you don't mind answering. Is the winding length 25 inches; diameter and cross section diameter of toroid; I'm guessing your using two transformers in parallel? I've been wanting to build a TC with two 15K, 60 ma transformers paralleled. I lost interest until I watched yours in operation. Thanks for any info.
