Re: [TCML] MOT to MMC
Hi Cole
The very best single MOT design I've seen is from scopeboy at
http://scopeboy.com/tesla/tc2schem.html
Made one very like it as did Mike, see "drilling" site at Terry's site
http://www.capturedlightning.org/
This design is very cheap uses about 12.5nF Tank Cap and will make 800mm
arc.
IMHO replacing inductors described with the secondary's of two gapped MOT's
(0.3mm) in series is easier and cheaper and just as effective and a slight
overkill on the number of diodes is cheaper quicker and easier than trying
to include balancing resistors and capacitors across the silicon. I did the
overkill on diodes and have no problems with it. Can describe more offline
if needed. Careful MOT's are deadly BTW

I recently removed a MOT from a microwave and was wonder how to
properly match is with a MMC, its rated at 1.4Kw looks like this
http://hvtesla.com/images/tesla%20coil%20mot.jpg it does occasionally
trip 15 amp breakers.
Current my MMC is 8 942C20P15K-F, what is a configuration for this MOT
eg how many is series or strands
