IMHO,I think you would be better off with a 10KV ORBIT.They can go from 30-45MA. Binny...P.S. Just stay away from solid state inverter types of neons,and if you are really working within a tight budget You might want to look into the MOV/voltage doubler route.Also you will have to take in the spark gap configureation in your build. We actually managed to get our hands on a 8 kV NST. If you look at the attached pdf you'll see all of its specifications (our transformer is called "N 40/8 RC") Is this NST suitable for a tesla coil?
