IMHO,I think you would be better off with a 10KV ORBIT.They can go from 
30-45MA.  Binny...P.S. Just stay away from solid state inverter types of 
neons,and if you are really working within a tight budget You might want to 
look into the MOV/voltage doubler route.Also you will have to take in the 
spark gap configureation in your build.   Cheers   Binny....
