Thus the reason that I wouldn't consider using a single
50 kV(DC) rated pulse cap, in solo. Some pulse caps
are specifically desinged for high rep rate with 80% or
greater voltage reversals, but these are generally physi-
cally larger (i.e. lower energy density) than their low pps,
low voltage reversal % rated counterparts. Some of the
more robust rated pulse caps also have an (AC) voltage
rating and I found my Plastic Capacitors BNK series
custom Tesla coil cap, rated at .1 uFd @ 25 kV(AC)
to be quite adept to handily digesting the 240 volts @
~80 amps that I fed it via my 14.4 kV, 10 kVA rated
distribution transformer (~19 kVA)!
However, for most standard commercial pulse caps,
when the exact specs are unknown, a good rule of thumb
is to assume the specs that Jim Lux stated. That's why
I would not consider even a 50 kV(DC) rating to be
a sufficient rating for a big, 14.4 kV pig driven coil.
Seriesing two of these however, would likely get the
"true" specs up to par and would still result a rela-
tively large .15 uFd. Remember, the cap's life time
shots rating is based on the full rated voltage and an
increase in the ceiling voltage rating results in a pretty
much logarithmic increase in the shot life expectancy.

Generally, not great.. Those kind of caps are typically set up for 1
pulse/second with maybe 20% voltage reversal.
