Re: [TCML] First tesla coil, some advice needed
Hi Andreas,
I had no trouble running from a generator as long as I ramped up the voltage slowly. That was running 2.7kw (15 kV x 180 mA) from a 5kw generator. Flipping it off & on at full power caused the generator to balk and occasionally stall, but a smooth ramp-up never caused a problem.

Good to hear that it will work, dont want to buy new caps only for this nst.
I will set the gaps very carefully.
here is a pic of the almost completed circuit. Will have PVC tubing and covers on all exposed metallic parts. Nylon was just a bit too expensive hehe.

Another question,
I might run my tc of a generator, anything i need to think about or will it work as good as from the mains ?
Btw, i am from Sweden.
