[TCML] RE: Counterpoise Insulation from Ground

I used one earlier in the year at a teslathon and just put a thin plastic
sheet down onto a wooden floor [protect from scratches] and the chicken wire
on top. So mine was not raised.

Hi Guys,
Quick question here; Does the counterpoise have to be lifted up off the
ground to capacitively couple? Is it alright to let it lay in contact with
carpet or a pool deck?
If not, is it alright to cut a square out of the center to let it elevate
without the coil pinning it down?
