It seems from the way the silicon and iron arc residue bounces thattheir little spinning balls or toroids.

Perhaps these are spheromak's - magnetically-pressurized plasma-bubbles?Perhaps certain plasmas can exhibit unknown magnetic properties?

Anyone know if the Currie temperature of iron increases with pressure?What is the permiability of the Earth's molten iron core?
