Looks like some researchers produced fire balls or/and
small ball lightning with tesla coils in lab conditions.
If the phenomenon can be produced,it can be studied.

Since the nature of ball lightning has never been verified by any reputable source I suppose that one can ascribe it to anything and anything to it.
