Not to in any way diminish the monumental contributions made by Terry, but I'd have to say Frank Lee, of Morris & Lee deserves credit for previously using a MMC in a Tesla coil. I built my first coil (albeit a super long skinny one) to M&L's plans in the late 60s that used about 16-20 series connected commercial capacitors. Now, clearly Terry introduced the concept to the modern coilers and performed elaborate testing to identify the preferred capacitor fabrication characteristics. I still have the plans and will try to scan them and post a link, if only for historical records. One interesting note, M&L required a buyer to pass a non-trivial electronics safety test before they would sell you a kit for their TC.
