I had an idea the other day for a static gap that I have never seen
before. I haven't been able to construct one and try it yet due to
lack of time/funds. I did draw a pic of it though,

Would this work? has it been done? Before I waste my time what do you
think. I like the idea because it's something different. any and all
criticism welcomed. Norm
Norm,
Nice symmetrical layout that will work well, no doubt. Instead of using
your time on a manifold to split airstream into 2, you use 2 blowers. I
like it. Has a racing engine feel to it.
You could call it the *RamHornGap*.
You might take a look at the pipe cap gap
http://home.earthlink.net/~jimlux/hv/captrig1.htm
which itself is a variant of a Marx blast gap:

Steve Young on the list built a gap similar to the triggered one;

Fruengel (Dr capacitor and spark gap) commented in his book that the
radial air flow between the electrodes was beneficial, so in your "rams
horn gap" (Finn has a great name for you!), if you put pipe caps on the
ends of the pipes, with a hole drilled in it, you'll get a nice smoothly
curved surface between the ends of the pipes.
