Re: [TCML] Re: Capacitor advice

You can always trust Java TC, but it can be difficult to put all the parameters in correctly, and often times a working system needs to be de-tuned by x % once the sparks start flying, but 6 turns seems a bit much. I don't know if you can use Java TC for a magnifier, if you did you would have to use it in stages as a giant calculator, and put stuff together yourself. You are getting 10 cm breakout using how many capacitor plates? But yes, reduce capacitance, increase primary. Increase top load capacitance, increase primary. More details would help us better diagnose your system and make sure your putting it in Java TC properly (for example are you sure you have 1700 turns?)

I'm using a break point ( a 4mm in 6 cm copper rod ) on the topload . it
gives me ~10 cm .
you mean if i reduce capacitance , i must increase my primary ?
my big question is here : javatc says with my specs i need 11 turns of
primary . but 11 turns give me less sparks than 17 turns. so can i trust
this program ?
(can i use javatc for magnifier coil ?)
