RE: [TCML] Tank Circuit Design
Could anyone find the original link to the Terry paper? It would be useful
to add it to the Wikipedia page

I have added a line to the "Typical Tesla Coil Schematic" box:
"This design is favoured when a relatively fragile Neon Sign Transformer
(NST) is used." A link to the Terry Fritz paper there would be nice.
BTW, the box also contains "An inductance, not shown, protects the
transformer", a remark that will, I am sure, trigger some debate on this
list... I would suggest we replace that by "a RC filter" or "a filter"...

It matters. I suggest you place the spark gap in parallel with the power
supply, and the tank capacitor in series. In this way, the spark gap can
pull double duty as a voltage limiter. This is especially critical for
tesla coils based on neon sign transformers, as NSTs are relatively fragile
and are easily ruined by HV transients.
