[TCML] magnetic quenching / neodymium magnets

Greeting listeros,

I wanted to throw out a couple of questions re use of magnets in a spark 
gap.

1) Has anyone tried using neodymium magnets? If so, what grade (N45, N50, 
etc) were they?

2) Has anyone tried them in combination with a cooling fan?

I've seen them mentioned before in current & classic literature re use of 
spark gaps, but don't recollect anyone here saying they'd tried them.
