RE: [TCML] New Geek Group Video - How To Phase NSTs

Congratulations.
Educational videos with a good taste in humour.
Such presentations I've always liked.
BTW,the most impressive youtube coiling video I saw is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY-AS13fl30&feature=related

55 kW ,1.5 MV coil in Oklahoma. It produces 26 feet long arcs!

Thanks Jeff ;)

I don't suppose out there in Hollywood you could help us get some of their
movie-making junque donated? I desperately need such things as a mic boom,
camera crane, dollies, vehicle camera mounts, etc ad-astra.

And if you liked that one, just wait until you see what we have in
production. We're bringing the new soundstage online and I'm pushing to get
a LOT of new videos out in the 2009 season.

Anyone who is interested in coming to our studios in Kalamazoo, Michigan and
doing a demonstration of something they built (like your coil, but it
doesn't have to be just HV related) and making a Geek Group video on it is
welcome to contact me at cboden@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx that includes you Jeff. I'd
be interested in shooting videos with everyone from the noobs making their
first 3-inch arcs to the Old Guard guys like Jeff, Bill, and Jim.

I'm going to be making a Safety-101 video in the coming weeks (it's already
in production) where we are blatantly plagiarizing the Pupman Safety FAQ and
putting it into a video format that the newbs can understand.

And as for girls....well.....I feel your pain. My problem is that some of
those 40-something guys think I'm cute....

Chris,

That was one of your best videos. Your on-camera work continues to improve
and your sense of style makes learning interesting yet you stress safety to
what I think is an adequate degree.

I like the shift from "here is what we did" to "here is what you can do".
That approach will suit your organization well in the future and with more
camera time, you may get a cable deal someday.

As for girls? (you brought it up) Unless you are 22 and running your Tesla
coil at Burning Man or Cochella, you are not going to get any girls with
high voltage. From all the TV I've done lately, I get recognized in public
on rare occasion and from my experience, the cable science viewer is male,
40, bald, pudgy and not interested in having sex with me.

Jeff
