RE: [TCML] JAVATC PFC Query

Garry:

My reason for considering them is purely to reduce current draw. I have two
NST's at present with a third on the way. With the two 10K 50 m/a NST's I
get peaks of 8 amps, so was looking to reduce current draw before I add the
third nst. I have a 13 amp circuit (UK) and the industrial vac for the
sucker gap takes 4amps or so.

If I put a cap across each NST I'll then have 3 caps in parallel looking
into the circuit from the wall socket, but I'm not sure if that matters, as
each NST will still present an improved PF to the incoming voltage, but as
Deano says, will each cap have a knock on effect to the cap 'behind' it in
the chain.

In writing this reply I "think" its clearer in my mind now, and we only need
(assuming each NST is the same rating which they are), the one big overall
cap, thoughts anyone...........?

Deano:

Had a look at your interesting webpage about 1am last night. Will tackle it
today instead <smile>
