Re: [TCML] Tesla motors

Very interesting. Does the owner know the history of those motors [single phase, poly phase, or at least one of each?]? If polyphase how many phases? How can he prove they were made by Tesla? Were they experimental units? It would be really interesting to see the nameplates, if any; the oldest Tesla nameplate I've seen is the one the generator plate from Niagra Falls which Smithsonian has [or at least use to have] in its display of Edison stuff.. Do you mean to imply that there are also DC motors made by Tesla? That's something new to me.

Further question. If these were made by Tesla where were they made? His writings sure show some interesting and beautifully made stuff and I assume it was made in his New York lab but don't recall seeing anything saying so specifically.

At Tesla Fest 2009 we have a very rare collection of Tesla AC motors mfg in
1892. They were originally built by Tesla.

Also, some of his (and Edison's) DC motors will be on display.

A national collector is hauling in his rarest motors to display them with
the many coils that are coming. Hopefully, he will run some of them for
short periods of time.
