Look's if you stuck an 811A into the tube socket and flipped the switch;

was built in the late '70's with two 811A's....similar in style. You've
got a real oldie!

Nope, Dan,
"Big TC" was a disruptive spark gap coil, while Steve's is a VTTC.
There was a "Lil' TC" plan published in the same popular Electronics
issue as "Bit TC", but it used a TV flyback transformer as an output.
Steve's TC is from a schematic 30-40 years older than the Big TC
article.
