?When the pulse reaches max value, the secondary output goes to zero. The?reverse magnetic field on the back side of the pulse produces the reverse polarity of current, So the output is alternating polarity -- AC both sides of zero. Call it what you will. Rectifiers are required to get pulsating DC output.

Square wave 60cps ac has a negative voltage every 60th of a second but pulsed dc 
does not so yes I am correct.

exist they pulse dc to simulate ac
