WRT corona losses from ribbon primary coils:

Chris is also running at comparatively low voltage.
Although with such low power available for Chris' TC and fact that he's
got extreme efficiency as a goal, I agree that it might be an issue to keep
an eye on.. As some have mentioned eddy currents might be the real killer.
Easy enough to fix if he's willing to slice up the ribbon. What about proximity
effect?
