I was thinking about something like that a couple months ago but then I realized that I had no idea how to do it.
My idea was to make a Database program that would be online.  Anyone who has made a coil would be welcome to add to it.
My general thought was that if a bunch of people input an in depth specification of their coil then some one could analize the data and determine who knows what.  By comparing different component values to spark length or whatever, one could determine what actually works the best.  
of course once a program like that would be developed it would be a sinch to add a little longitude latitude fill in bubble that would put a dot on a mp
But of course I am not a computer programer so... someone is welcome to steal my idea if they want.
